I dusted off my account just to reply to this, I think the context of this film is being lost in the debate. The Whitewashing of the character is the entire point of the film and you have to look at the story in context.

Well, I think that's part of why the theory originally took off - the game is a simulation, and it takes attention to detail to a whole new level. For that reason, adding racial profiling didn't seem too outlandish to some people. That is not of course to say that racial profiling would make for a better game, or that

people needs to learn that the seal of quality wasn't about, bugs or glitches or a "good" games, was about that the NES will play the cartridge, nothing more nothing less

I got hit with a bug where I can load the game, but cannot go online. I was playing online and I was killed during a match, and the game suddenly reloads with my character in his default outfit (was running around in the 1920s get up), and all weapons I purchased were gone and I cannot rebuy them.
