Oh I know, I hear the difference, but it does work with no pass through on PC, so it does do 5.1 on PC as well. It's a very versatile device and the PS3 logo on it hides that fact.
Right now, I have it hooked up to my Sony Bravia TV, so any device: PS3, PS4, Wii U, PC... whatever I do on the TV has the audio going to the headset. I love it. It uses the USB dongle and the headphone jack to do it, but it works and sounds amazing.
