Yeah, I don’t see ‘em. Probably going to pick up a set of Kuhmo Extasa LXs for daily driver duty. They’re cheap and should last a while.

235/45 R17, so probably not. I remember reading a piece years back about a LeMons team using them on an e30.

Good tread life on the TAs? I’ve got a set of wheels ready.

And CarPlay! Most people who have enough money to afford a new car will likely be able to afford whatever they want. Including iPhones.

At this point I wonder, how long before manufacturers just ship cars with an iPad/iPhone/tablet holder mount in the dash, and a BMW/Mercedes/etc app? The phone/tablet systems are better anyways.

Because racecar. Moving the lever forward (push forward for downshift, pull backward for upshift) is the way every racecar I’ve ever seen works. BMW introduced “manual” control to their 5 series in 2001 with their first Steptronic transmissions, and had it backwards (push-up, pull-down). A year later, it was swapped.

I’m pretty happy with the console shifter on my e39, as it lends to the sporty feeling. However, on a FWD vehicle, I completely agree. Also, ditching the auto next summer with a manual swap...

I see your ND, and I raise you a MB C-class:

It’s interesting in my e39. On one hand, it’s saved my ass a few times, when deer jump into the middle of the canyon/mountain road I’m bombing up/down. On the other, it has this nasty tendency to absolutely kill some corner exits, seemingly at random by cutting power. However, one flick of the switch and drifty,

Everything in here looks sumptuous and expensive. Except that piano-black, fingerprint-covered monstrosity in the center console. :/

Too bad about CUE...

Oooh, now that’s sexy!

Yep! My 2003 BMW e39 530i’s M54 I6 has what’s known as the DISA valve; a small box attached to the side of the intake manifold. It fails around 100k miles and has a nasty tendency to drop metal pins down into the engine; yay! But it serves to increase runner length at low RPMs and reduce it at higher, creating better

I'm a loooong way from kids, but the typical arrive and race thing will scratch the itch for about a month or so. Full time student takes a lot of time.

Gas-powered karts are a drug! Adams is the best place I know of locally. Total blast!

e39s are pretty nice to work on, aren’t they? My M54 is jealous of your M62.

And there’s even more room with the Zionsville aluminum cooling kit!

Actually, this looks better because they can be removed. Sad...

I’m a little late to this one, but hear me out.

Interesting. First I’ve heard of pacifiers causing dental development problems. My dad sucked his thumb (Linus-style) until he was of preschool age, and yet he has the straightest teeth (non-brace’d, anyway) of anyone in our family. Always an exception, I guess.
