He basically said “I like it.” I don’t know why he didn’t choose to elaborate on that point, because that could have been the opening for some really interesting discussions.

Better ride quality, maybe?
Holy.... Why mechanics wear gloves, people...
I’ve been very lucky to make 106k miles on the VCG in my 03 530i (M54)!
There’s a whole article somewhere around here with a title something like “How to make your car sound like a Pagani Zonda” or something like that.
I find it ironic that I would like for the racing noises to be louder most of the time...
Do it! Might have to pick up an e39 wiring harness, but that would be epic!
Whoa, really?! At least you got into the trunk! My e39 has mechanical overrides on all of the cylinders, so if the battery is flat, you can still get inside.
The restrictor plate is a flat piece of metal about 4-8mm thick or so with four holes bored in the center. It used to rest on top of the carburetor, and now rests on the intake manifold. It limits the amount of air the engine can use. It’s the same principle that the Le Mans GT cars use (air restrictors) to equalize…
Don’t worry, it was all CG, except where they repainted the entire car after they scratched the front end. I even looked it up because I was worried! http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/meet-the-guy-w…
Whoa. Need an aspirin yet?
I think clean, unmodified examples will go up in value - like with any BMW M-cars of the mid-late 90s. They became so cheap that they are/were owned by people who couldn’t afford the upkeep, or they were modified beyond belief because racecar. There will always be an enthusiast market, especially around the BMW…
Well, let’s just say there’s a reason I bought an 03 530i!
Dude, I was driving Angeles Crest and met the second type. It was like he was my brother; similar build, same height and hair color. Creepy.
Good question. I’m inclined to think that it is the cable connection for the steering wheel, rather like what Nascar racers uses for their radio switch and cut off switch. Rather inelegant, though. Hope it’s something else.
