My wife drives one of these. I am under no illusions that it is worth 30 grand. But since she wants to drive a manual SUV, we will probably never sell it so who cares? It is an awesome ride for a Jalop woman who needs to cart around two kids and a huge dog, and refuses to drive an automatic.

This supports a long-running theory I have that nobody in the Bay Area knows what money is or how much of it to spend on anything

I got my new 2018 GTI for less than that used one. Admittedly it’s not nearly as nicely optioned but all the 2018s have the same power as the performance pack (though base models don’t get the bigger brakes or diff) and you get a 6 year warranty. I don’t really see a reason to get a 3-year-old autobahn. My cousin just

Can we please stop making these kidney grilles even bigger?

It was the ABS, though - the update was to ABS firmware. Here’s the thing, though - we’ve had ABS for a looong time. ABS is one of those things Tesla should be buying from and getting dialed by one of the big suppliers, who’ve been doing it for a long time. It’s possible that other car makers run into that sort of

In New York City uber and Lyft vehicles are all TLC licensed. There is none of that “use your private car to make a few bucks on the side” nonsense. They all carry the requisite vehicle-for-hire insurance.

This is terrible for this man and other people like him, but the problem isn’t with Uber, it’s that a medallion is $700k. This artificial economy has always been problematic. There are also issues with ride sharing, but the answer lies somewhere in the middle, not protecting this outdated system.

Sounds like there’s one going cheap in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Ran when parked.

Miss your Aztek?!? I think this is the van you’re looking for

Without doing a damn thing except piss away 25% of the electricity you use due to charging inefficiency. When you’re looking at maybe two cents to charge your phone it’s no big deal, but when you’re paying several dollars a night to charge your car, it’ll add up quickly.

At least they got the exhaust tips right this time.

I actually can’t believe I forgot to mention this, but since you reminded me, the hood is also unbelievably heavy.

Oh really, 36K and this ?

They’re not particularly unattractive, at least the older ones were decently proportioned. But I can’t personally see the appeal in taking the practicality hit of driving a 2 door (with HUGE doors) over a 4 door when it’s identical in terms of driving pleasure.

Having said that, I do have a 2 door GTI instead of a 4

I said this on the other Veloster article but I want to say it again. Manual seats are fine, but this car does not give the driver the ability to control the other windows. This is a prime way to make a car feel cheap. Its one thing to remove extras to be cheap, but Hyundai can’t give what, as far as I know, literally

Subaru and kayak owner here: Pool Noodles work wonders overtop the bumper area.

Hauling a boat doesn’t leave you much choice, unless the boat is 20 feet long. I wrap soft fabric around the straps where it meets paint, personally.

15% quicker on the track compared to an M3? So assuming a 1:37 time at Seca the Model 3 will do a 1:23? Which is 5 seconds a lap faster than the Viper ACR. Yea ok Elon. I believe you just made the fastest production car ever in a sedan.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s irresponsible for a college student to spend $20,000 on a car? No job, student loans piling up, and you want to get into more debt?
