I can’t speak for LA but there’s not much in SD. They do legal parking lot drag racing at Qualcomm Stadium to reduce street racing, which has actually helped quite a bit.

I have a 2018 Mazda 3 with the 6-speed manual, it has radar cruise, automatic braking, and lane departure. It all works just fine. The owners manual has a note that the automatic braking may cause the engine to stall if the driver doesn’t push the clutch.
