I am aware of why, but thanking you for taking the time to point it out.
However, even if I were not aware of why, the result would be the same i.e. BBC Sherlock appears to be more cleverly written, while Elementary appears to be very simple and leading and that is why I dislike it (much like your own reasons).

Although the British version was released first, I never managed to watch it until much later. When Elementary was released I was excited at the prospect of the show, it's bold new take and so recorded the first season and started to watch them back2back.
