My niece got it recently and I’ve lost family to this guy so... yeah I’m part of that cohort. Fuck this developer.

The bummer is, while it didn’t click with me, it had some pretty good design decisions (though its art direction was kind of a rip off of another game).

To be fair, in the 90s the Grocery Store was a hot place for pickups which would lead me to believe the 90s was the last time this guy had sex.

Scrolling through the developer’s twitter there’s also some hot take white supremacist Roman stuff (which in retrospect is not entirely shocking given it’s a gladiator sim).

Well, I liked this game, it never quite clicked but it as interesting and well designed but I will admit I have given it a negative review after this. This is just nonsense, they can believe what ever they like but perpetuating it like this is bad business. My niece got COVID last week, I have family who have died

What was Chobot’s reaction after the hissing intake of breath? That felt very “oh I don’t want to be here” which is not what I would have expected.

People are so silly, I mean I walked right by CCP Games’ offices when visiting Reykjavik without noticing until the second or third time. These are businesses, they don’t need flashy buildings to impress people. That they don’t splash out on silliness on the outside to me is refreshing.

Watching that video was utterly cringe inducing, I felt genuinely sorry for three of the presenters as the guy in the yellow and black sweater (Pawel Sasko) made cringey joke after cringey joke. Right at the top he joked about his “dildo build” and being able to perk it up.

Fair point, I’ll go back to the meme mines and try and earn my redemption.

There are a few scenes with writing, usually pretty small. In the original Star Wars there was English but moved most of everything to Aurebesh to make it look spacey.

Dial down the hyperbole there, was it the best? No, was it “like a bad student film” please I went to film school I saw and MADE bad student films this was not that. We get it, you can’t let people enjoy things and have to just grump all over it, I feel kind of sorry for you.

OH MY GOD! I felt it looked familiar. I remember playing on one of those at a friends. Frig, I love this! (Though thanks Kotaku for the needless grumpiness, it’s not really a good look. It’s fine not to like something but the snark looks unprofessional.)

I would counter by saying they do want the majority of the company’s staff just not the leadership. The axe will continue to fall on those who were abusers but the rank and file will stay because that’s a big work force they need. The IPs are, by in large, dormant. They need to build out a stable of studios to act

Hey, I’m not saying the should or shouldn’t just saying I can understand the logic.

I can see that argument, I also see the counter that it’s a part of the culture so should be covered. I can respect that though so fair point.

Except that’s not true, they do cover it but it’s not seen (now that’s a problem in and of itself but is a demonstrable fact). Doing a simple search search of their posted articles I can see that’s not true. Results as follows:

Warzone and the “Harry Potter Meta”

Elsewhere in the comments you use what could be described as hate speech. I didn’t call you everything wrong with the internet, you correctly self identified as that so *shrug* congratulations? (Also, people have been on the internet to see the game you’re playing, very good sea lioning.)

Sadly it’s appropriate for Kotaku to cover this as twitch is a platform tied to gaming culture and many people like to use it and these asshats behaviour impacts the ecosystem. That said, it’s exactly why I’ll NEVER use twitch other than to watch friends.

Look, people like watching what they like watching but all this nonsense is baffling. It was bad enough when we had this nonsense from YouTubers now it’s on video game streaming platforms too! It’s all a weird outgrowth from debutante culture and highschool cliques. The cool kids want to be cool and they create this
