Yes, Consumer Reports reliability data is far from perfect, but it is pretty clear that if a brand is at the bottom of CRs rating that i̶t̶ ̶i̶s̶n̶’̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶m̶o̶s̶t̶ ̶r̶e̶l̶i̶a̶b̶l̶e̶ ̶c̶a̶r̶.̶ the manufacturer ignored Consumer Reports' payola demands.

GM doesn’t make shitty cars. They just don’t beat Toyota. I’ve owned a Tacoma. WORST seating position of ANY vehicle I’ve ever owned. I had a Toyota FJ Cruiser. It was costing me a grand a month in repairs for the shit that was breaking on it, and that was NOT including the things I could fix on my own in the driveway.

But the thing is...the ads aren’t false. Misleading, yes, but not false. Chevy inserted some chosen parameters into an SAE definition, issued a survey, and reported results.

That’s the thing. I don’t see why commenters are getting so fired up about this. It’s a dumb bullshit commercial, but so are most commercials. Whenever I hear any car or truck commercial declaring that it’s the most this or best in class that, it goes in one ear and out the other, because I just assume that they’re

It’s got the ugly ass Toyota proboscis on it, so that’s real:

The T-Bird Turbo Coupe might have something to say about that... ;-)

It appears that Ford and GM are pouring a good deal of those sweet Truck and Crossover (which are more efficient than in ‘08 anyway) profits into developing hybrids, so yes, it does seem like we’ll be fine.

Automakers are pouring money into CUVs that get the same mileage as sedans and electric CUVs because customers are literally pounding manufacturers with requests and it isn’t for mid-size or full-size sedans. They are taking the middle ground between customers whims and long term viability and it just happens to be at

1st Gear: Damn Debbie Downer. Let us enjoy all the new shit hitting the market this year and next. Honestly though I think a lot of these reports are over exaggerated. The Recession scared everyone because we hadnt seen anything like it during our lifetimes. So now its scared everyone into doomsday thinking constantly

Listen buddy, I owned an ELR and currently have a CT6 PHEV.

Now playing

It’s overall kinda paint by numbers from Cadillac. Surprising Supecruise is not a option from the start.

Yeah, I was shocked they killed the CT6. My parents bought the super rare (and Chinese imported) CT6 PHEV a few months ago, and it’s a spectacular car (and was a used car bargain!). They paid about $44k for a CPO 2017 with under 5,000 miles on it. They love it (and I do too), but I hope it’s not a maintenance

I can’t believe that this $120K car based on a mass produced car isn’t as nice as the bespoke $600K cars it’s faster than. SOOOOOOO shocking. I’m SO sick of this constant dig at the Corvette as it’s older and less accurate than the 1982 Encyclopedias I grew up reading. I’ve driven a few C7s, and it’s a really nice

Might want to search common problems for these before buying. A family member has had an STS for years and always has odd reliability stuff happen on the regular, like one of the doors not working, car having to be towed for a short, etc.

The same could be said for the oil industry, and yet we subsidize it. If anything, electrics should be subsidized more, with fossils being given fewer breaks.

No we’re all a bunch of morons, thankfully there’s an internet commenter here with zero experience in the field to tell us how to do our jobs though....

I’m guessing you are a person without children? It wasn’t a consideration for me prior to being a parent but it is now.

Why you want your rental car to be a sad Chevy Malibu, I have no idea.

Chuck will be pleased.

Solid NP. If I were in the market for one this would get top consideration. CJ7s in this shape are easily 10k+ and those are much more common. That 4.2 will run forever with proper maintenance, even if it will never get you anywhere quickly.
