You can use the front brake at low speeds, you just have to have good touch. Rear brake has more forgiveness at those speeds, though.

I believe both of my old 2001 cars have a rain sensor that combines with your ‘interval suggestion’ and calculates either speed or water on the windshield to adjust as necessary.

If I come to a stop, the wipers pretty much stop, and slowly tick again as I drive.

Does this work with wet wood/sticks/needles? For example, if you were in the PNW, say the Oregon Coast range, somewhere on Mt Hood, or up in Goat Rocks, WA, and all the sticks are soggy, all the pine needles are wet, and there’s snow on the ground?
