Well I did live in downtown Austin from 2006-2008 right near loud music venues, and it didn’t typically bother me because I was usually at them and those venues had established legal dispensation to play, and I knew that going in.

Devil’s advocate: “technically illegal” is actually the only kind of illegal, and the asshole is the guy who violates municipal laws against noise pollution—laws enacted by a democratically elected government—but expects everyone to allow him to noise pollute because he’s special.
