Right. I’d reckon that 3 seconds for anyone, let alone an exhausted perso, won’t be able to do much reacting when getting shouted at out of the blue. This man was most likely dead the moment the cops walked up to the car.

I've only ever heard that actual veterans have better training and trigger control. You're not wrong about these correlations and similarities, but I don't recall ever hearing about an actual combat vet cop going as overboard as these numbnuts.
Three seconds to wake up, make sense of the cacophony of lights, shouts, and other stimuli, interpret no-doubt indistinctly barked orders (cops love to add base to their voice to add authority, but diminish intelligibility) and comply. Three seconds. This bought-and-paid-for cop lackey thinks that’s ample time to…
They gave him three seconds to wake up and figure out what was happening, then comply with them, before shooting him to death.
It’s a known fact at this point that high IQ and high academic performance are not a prerequisite to joining a police department. If anything it's a detriment.
So we have six amateurs who planned to rob Ortiz and the first step in the master plan was to shoot him in the back in front of 100 people and then run away.
Later on, after Torres delivered her burn, New Jersey Rep. Christopher Smith called the reproductive rights movement a “modern-day flat earth society.”
Demographics is a bitch, isn’t it?
“They never worry about what black people won’t like because—for many black voters—supporting the Democratic Party is the result of choosing between the lesser of two evils.”
Agreed until that last part; I think audiences were totally open to embracing McAvoy, Fassbender, and Lawerence. (Or at least McAvoy and Fassbender - Mystique being Xavier’s quasi-brother was a weird move, and then Lawrence coincidentally blew up because of Hunger Games.) Trouble is, they sabotaged Fassbender’s…
Once again further proof that white people couldn’t handle 1/10th of the shit we deal with. I mean won’t someone think of the white people?
It’s not 100% historically accurate - it IS a drama after all - but it is more than sufficiently accurate to scare the pants off you in places. I won’t spoil anything, but if the first episode is best described as “apocalyptic”, the ending of the 2nd episode is utterly frightening.
The problem with dealing with monsters is that people in power always think they can control the monster or eventually slay it if they just placate it with a few sacrifices. Agreements are made and then broken... new deals made.... broken again.
He’s going to get that surge no matter what, so why not try to surge her own base?! Like, even if she doesn’t move to impeach, Trump will say she is. He’ll make up caravans, try to lock up Joe Biden, he’ll do all kinds of shit that’ll have his base wound up a NONE of it is within her control.
She has such little faith in us as educated citizens. It makes me have no faith in her as a leader.
She’s the candidate I wanted in 2016 and the best hope we have to at least delay our inevitable demise. On policy, she’s the best mainstream candidate of my entire life.
I’m part of anti-racist organizing in my area. You’d be shocked how many working class white folks /want/ an excuse to be taken out of that culture of lies that has been foisted on them for generations. They’ll (we’ll) wallow around in it and such for a long time until someone brings up an alternative. It works. I was…
See white folks, this is how you show yourself to be an ally. Take a stand, challenge your brethren and be willing to do something to make change happen. These cats have a uphill battle and I wish them all the luck and blessings.
Back in the day this is how it was done, before photoshop. It was also done by putting Vaseline on the enlarger in the darkroom. That was back when all photographers were not created equal by photoshop. Thanks for the article and the reminder that we can still be creative in our pre post shooting.
