I was speaking to the employment numbers and paycheck to paycheck living mentioned by Tekamul.

I know from a Seattle perspective we have a ton of people who are contractors working in tech. The pay isn’t terrible but the benefits are usually dodgy and sometimes non-existent.

Yes. One of my friends who was an MP in the army grows enraged when he sees how bad cops are at their jobs.

It needs to be federally funded with proper oversight across the board. Perhaps a pipe dream, but consistency of quality and capability are huge factors in poor hiring decisions in police forces as well as accountability, transparency, support services for officers etc. etc.
