If I remember right he’s a legacy which carries a lot of weight and cops don’t tend to believe the worst about their own. You are 1000% right about the liability issues. I’m surprised that they were willing to absorb the risk and publicity that will follow.

I think the key to success is blocking out the ability to be a lobbyist for a substantial term of at least 10 years. You’ll hear tons of protest over it though.

Just had this same discussion with a friend of mine. The fixes for the issues of unlimited money and smears on ads is an easy fix but the ability to get that legislation locked in is not.

I would feel more optimistic if I wasn’t in a blue state watching people I grew up around become more and more hate oriented. These people weren’t bad people but the constant stream of Facebook and Brietbart they consume has slowly been changing them over the last year. They are basically throwing away real life…

Pretty certain that’s why many people are asking for an investigation in this situation. You know the guy up for confirmation doesn’t want one right? That means he’s likely guilty, or he expects worse to be found. Maybe not more rape but maybe bribery or other crimes he will go to prison for.

Walking out is a useless gesture. So is standing around chanting. These are all things that the Republicans don’t give shits about. This is what their corporate masters are paying them to endure. A few moments of discomfort for wealth and power, no real consequences.
