Okay, I have to admit, I would tune in every week for Star Trek: The Golden Girls (and Picard). 

There’s a bit of pop writing advice that instructs the writer to ask, “Is this the most exciting or interesting time in your character’s life? And if it isn’t, why aren’t you writing about that?”

Maybe it will something like Picard’s Memoirs. Where it interlaces Patrick Stewart talking about adventures from Picard’s youth. Perhaps narrating as an omniscient 3rd party while a younger actor play’s young Picard?

I remember last summer and fall when so-called true die-hard Trekkers were certain - nay, DEMANDED - that Discovery only get a single season, if that. They were so certain it wasn’t Star Trek that they believed that everyone would reject it. And although I had nothing to do with anything outside of being a subscriber…

I was pretty hyped for the show when the first teaser of Discovery leaving dock in that asteroid was released. It was straight out of the Phase II concept art. It’s only a couple of shots, so I’ll try my damndest to reserve judgement. But the Enterprise shown in the season finale of Discovery had that gray-reflective look of the NX-01, which, personally I hate. I wish they used the original series effect remasters as a template for how to update the look of the show.

I apologize. I’m dumb to post on something I didn’t know about. I only saw the first half episode, wanted to see more, but decided I didn’t want to pay. I’ll crawl back under my rock.

Uhg! I know a lot of people think that Trek ‘66 looked “cheesy” and the sets and designs needed to be updated. To which I say emphatically: No. No they didn’t. Even Deep Space Nine had respect for the original.

THIS! This is the kind of "creativity" with the science that I can forgive and get behind. They knew the science, they worked with the science, and then they tweaked it only as much as necessary in order to make something they felt was more coherent for the story.
