the automakers would literally not do a single thing if regulation didnt force their hand. They have only innovated because they were forced to. Anyone who stands up to pee. Reaching under to the back of a TP roll is awkward as hell. Chasing it down the wall if you unroll it to get something to grip on is also awkward. Scratching the wall to get that paper into your grasp is just sad.

What kind of sick deviant chooses back roll? If some kind of mishap happens during wiping, you’re more likely to inadvertently foul the roll while grasping desperately for more paper.

The ONLY valid argument I’ve heard for back roll is when you have a cat that likes to spin the TP roll.
