That was an entertaining read and nearly perfectly sums up why black women don’t cut it in high tech. Sadly Erica still doesn’t get it, but what she is quoted as having said fit the expectation and some stereotypes. I think we’re a generation or two away from an integrated workforce.

Not really. Tech jobs can’t seem to get enough women into their quotas because not enough of them have the appropriate degrees.

Because few women, much less a smaller demographic of them, go through tech courses. Believe it or not, gender studies majors tend to go into blogging rather than real tech.

Tech is a meritocracy. You either have the chops or you don’t. It’s not about the technical tests, it's about black men and women being encouraged to pursue technology and science as careers.

I believe that if a brilliant black woman passed the Google test and knew her shit, Google would be psyched to have her. Same with Twitter. Actually- I know so.

You know a lot of black women in tech? Really? I work IN tech, in an American tech hub, and I’ve met maybe 2-3 black women computer engineers. There is racism and sexism in tech, no doubt, but I blame this on a supply issue (not enough black women in the STEM pipeline) rather than a demand issue.

Yeah, but if you look at the chart in the article that displayed all of the other tech companies, there are barely any black people in any of them. Read more

Not to go full grandpa but every time I see football players jump into each other celebrating I’m half expecting that to happen. It’s how so many basketball ACL tears happen where you get bumped in the air on a rebound. Dumb. Now get off my lawn.

How about this: if you don’t like the rules of a group, don’t JOIN it. Seriously - the tail is wagging the dog in so many organizations in the US. We are sacrificing the rights of many for the acceptance of a few. Persecution of anyone is terrible (and yes, being non-white I have been persecuted) but I have a really Read more

It’s a shame isn’t it? It’s right there, for the taking. This mess Hillary made for herself is as if she’s a covert GOP supporter. Soooo many assumptions were made that she’d be a shoe in. She should have crushed it. Read more

If they do, I blame Hillary. All she had to do what shut her lying mouth and obey the law. Apparently, she still believes she’s above the law and has put the DNC in a very weak position. A Republican couldn’t have screwed over the DNC as much as Hillary has.
