I thought The Flash's power was strictly physical with hyper-fast speed and reflexes. How does that translate to him being able to read and comprehend new information just as quickly?

Someone please tell me if I'm crazy. If I cover up the top half of the 'Bridge' banner ad, it looks to me like a woodcut-style picture of Hall & Oates, circa 1975.
