I actually just watched A Christmas Story with my three kids (who are 6,7 and 9) and they absolutely loved it. I think I prepared them by making them watch The Sandlot a few months ago with is a similar style film, just not set during Christmas.

I think you’re confusing cut scenes with ‘tone’. Also her character is still pretty consistent with who I saw in the trailers, they just cut the line “I rebel” which I think was a good choice. Also apparently we didn’t see the same movie, because all I remember are some of the more generic cuts of action on the

We’ve seen what “artistry” does to the Star Wars franchise. I’d rather Disney be in charge of it than Lucas, who apparently forgot to make movies (or just got lucky in the first place).

I would probably say the “general Geek Chorus” is still pretty positive in regards to TFA a year later. You just usually those few guys who post on Io9 saying “am I the only guy who hates TFA because [reasons A, B & C] and then you have a small number of people agree and a large number of people argue with them.

They’ve gotten extremely cynical in regards to anything Star Wars or Marvel related in the last year or so, and that’s definitely affected my enjoyment of their reviews.

Wow... just wow. I watched the film with someone else who had no idea what it was about and they loved it and weren’t hinged on that. All I knew was that it took place right before A New Hope. I didn’t even realize it was in actuality a prequel to Episode IV. And I wasn’t sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time

The Redlettermedia review basically called Rogue One the best fanfiction film ever made, which to me it’s kind of pretentious calling it a ‘fan film’ (this is coming from someone who generally loves Redlettermedia content and reviews).

The point... you have missed.

Well excuuuuuuse me, mister pedantic

Just based on your description, I want it now. That set will probably cost an arm and a leg, so I’d better start saving for it.

I stand corrected.

Now playing

I think he’s speaking to the ‘manufactured controversy’ Sony basically created. Just going to leave this video here.

To me the Vong was a way to ‘shake things up’, but in doing so they killed way too many good characters and destroyed too many important iconic Star Wars locations. Plus they broke the rules of the universe by not being ‘in’ the Force, which I couldn’t get around, even though I read a ton of those novels. Also it

I can think nothing bigger than the symbolism of the ending of the new Ghostbusters movie being them shooting the logo in the crotch. Symbolic to what they did to the franchise.

Shhhhh... Let’s not talk about the Vong. I don’t want to sully good Star Wars talk with such a terrible expanded universe (legacy) plot line/race/development.

They’d only known about the Death Star for like a day, and even then they didn’t know or have any proof of it’s full power. It was surrounded by rumors at this point.

The concept is much funnier as a 2 minute trailer rather than a feature length film.

I’m going to have to say (as a rare internet minority of someone who actually liked BvS) that the Extended Cut was a lot more boring than the theatrical cut. Yes, it explained a lot more motives and filled out the plot a whole lot more, but it also drew out the 2nd and 3rd act to a point it felt like the movie was

It’s funny you say that because I constantly heard people criticize the first Dishonored game’s story (which I loved) and now it’s pretty much the standard for stealth assassin/thief games.
