oh holy hell.

I saw in Bernie a politician willing to go to bat for the best options available for the public. Reality be damned, let’s TRY for single payer health care. Let’s TRY for free college. Shoot for the moon; you might not make it but you might be surprised with how far you get.

Yeah, his column was definitely too long to effectively change Trump’s position. Bullet points man, bullet points that all fit on a single page.

And then? Put him in front of a 30K-people rally, all of whom are chanting Sin-gle Pay-er! [clap, clap, clap-clap-clap!] Sin-gle Pay-er! [clap, clap, clap-clap-clap!]

*eyeroll* This tired schtick?

Anti-trans bathrooms bills.

+1. They have sold their souls to the healthcare company lobby (along with every other lobby in sight).

See, this person gets it.

Exactly. They have no standards and practices, no rules, no regulations. They are the editorial, advertising, HR, and PR teams all rolled into one.

Even if, on the 1 in a million chance, Trump did come out for single payer healthcare, there’s ZERO chance it would make it through congress.

to be fair wsj did blow this whole thing out of proportion

The problem here is that youtubers aren’t use to this sort of attention.

I mean yes, partially that means that racists are making small amounts of cash on videos. But the real problem is for the ad companies, who are notorious for wanting to control their brand

The problem is that there is no institution in place to keep a person accountable. Places like the NYT, WSJ, or LAT have long standing institutions in the form of ombudsmen, editorial boards, rules, disciplinary oversight. Oh and requirement’s that you receive a college education on topic.

In other words: Welcome to the real world of big business, youtubers.

The problem here is that youtubers aren’t use to this sort of attention. For years they were celebrities in their own little bubble. You either subscribed to their channel and liked everything they did or you just didn’t bother following them. Anyone who would call out something a big youtuber did as bad or stupid was

Hacked and I think they’re closing in on the suspect...

Suddenly I’m craving McDonald’s breakfast. I mean, more than usual.
