Duckworth was born in Thailand, so she’s not eligible. I think Gillibrand and Harris are both huge possibilities, not only because of their qualifications, but sadly, because they’re both so good looking and well spoken. They’ll appeal to the cretins who don’t care about actual politics.

Harris would be a good option. She’s got the charisma and personality to handle what would certainly be a very nasty campaign.

And I think the lesson is that Republicans will get in line and vote for the devil, but Democrats need a sexy guy with charisma because we’re idiots who don’t want to vote for boring yet competent even if the option is the devil. I meant to add that if we’re looking toward CA, I am far more excited about Kamala Harris someday running than I am of Gavin Newsom.

I don’t know how much that matters any more and one of Hillary’s big problems was that shes been the target of the Right’s propaganda machine for a long time. A relative unknown might have better luck.

I can’t see anybody being a better prospect right now than Harris, on paper. Yeah, she’s a newbie...kind of like somebody else was, once. She’s from a reliably blue state, so we can be confident in her replacement. She’s a woman and a minority, so she won’t be the latest entry in the sequence of moldy white hippies…
