Do you feel like you can never really know anyone? That’s what I notice most in myself now.

I appreciate that a lot too. I ws raped multiple times by an abusive boyfriend. I was also raped shortly afterward by someone I considered my best friend. I became pregnant and decided to keep the baby, but miscarried. The whole experience was hellish. But I feel I am so strong now, 20 years later. I survived 17 years…
because a woman who has experienced rape can’t convincingly play a loveable goofball?
She really did. She seems like a great person too. You can tell she’s been through some real shit, which I think is why she can play some of the roles she does. She knows how to tap into her pain and translate it perfectly. Thirteen was such a great movie and I absolutely loved it when it came out. It spoke to my 16…
I’ve followed Evan Rachel Wood’s career for a long time and I’ve always had a huge crush on her (we are like 2 weeks apart in age) and she has ALWAYS seemed like just an incredible person. She is so intelligent and mature, but more than that, compassionate and strong. She really rocks.
I saw her in Thirteen in the theater when I was in high school and it was so stunningly performed I couldn’t forget her. I just started seeing her as herself on promo tours and the thing that strikes me is an absence of apology — she’s herself, she’s multi-talented, she hangs with A-listers, and she owns it without…
I really appreciate her bringing up the fact it was a significant other who was responsible for one of her rapes. I can’t speak to other kinds of rape, but I will say that rape by someone you’re involved with, someone you’ve had consensual sex with, possibly many times, is a particular kind of mind fuck. The urge to…
I have absolutely no perspective because I am a douchey phone user too but when someone...so I was in a mall once, texting on my phone going with traffic and a crew of out-of-towners were walking three abreast on the “wrong” side come toward me. Much as I am texting, I am maintaining spacial awareness so I step to the…
Agreed! She has always been so honest and wonderful in interviews. She is also a fabulous actress. One of the best of her generation and criminally underutilized. I am so glad she got this role in Westworld. I hope it leads to more opportunities and we see a lot more of her on the screen.
I just love her. I am sorry to hear that she has been raped on more than one occasion, it is shitty and I hope that with even more time the scars lighten. It seems as if she is in a better place and I hope she keeps moving forward.
I think Leo is aging into Jack Nicholson.
I’m not so much fed up with Rory as I am with how the writers handled her. I think she had a great ending in season 7. Rejecting Logans proposal was really mature of her and actually showed some growth in my opinion and then she totally regressed in the revival. The character deserved a better story.
I’m with you! I’m surprised people are so upset with Rory. Perhaps they only remember Chilton-era Rory who was sweet and adorable. Yale-years Rory was exactly like Rory in the revival: the worst. But I can still watch something and find it enjoyable, even if I don’t love all the characters.
Are you saying that you don’t think a 7 year-old is able to put together sentences like “I didn’t sleep since yesterday. I am hungry. I don’t want to die.”
Rory has a great resume and lots of contacts. Christiane Amanpour gave her her card, for Pete’s sake! She’s a meticulous planner and has (0r had) a great work ethic. So wth happened?
Also a #TeamLogan here and definitely frustrated by the way he was written in the revival.
I love her. Her courage, her beauty, her dimples. Those dimples!
She’s a gorgeous young lady and an excellent role model.
Damn, look at that fabric.
Yeah, the “I can’t remember my boyfriend’s name, let alone remember to dump him” was a very, very weak plot point and made me really mad.
