No one’s blaming the victims. Progressives are pointing out that it’s a vicious cycle that gets perpetuated over and over because we keep doing the same stupid shit. ISIS wants the West to crack down on Muslims because it feeds their ranks. If we are truly interested in stopping terrorism, we need to have an honest

I don’t think it’s blame, it’s pointing out the facts. Mistreatment leads to resentment. Terrorists can’t recruit people who are happy with their lot in life. It doesn’t mean you should give them everything they want. And it certainly doesn’t justify the backlash, but it’s crazy to think you can mistreat a group of

honestly? because it’s a country that treats immigrants terribly. ISIS depends on western nations treating Muslims bad, because that’s how they recruit. Most Muslims would never, but after 10+ years of being spat upon, suddenly ISIS begins to look good. So ISIS preys on nations that treat Muslims bad, in order to spur

uh huh

Nicholas Hoult seems like a not terrible person, but her choices since then. . . yikes.

I’m starting to get sick of the nice guy Obama bs. He wasted most of his first year trying to kumbaya with the right and now he’s being nice again. Just stop! No one who hates you is changing their minds. You know this IS the apocalypse. He needs to be trying to fuck this guy up during the next 2 months. Get a special

Why isn’t ANYONE in power in the U.S. doing anything about the fact that:

I agree wholeheartedly. I’m so disgusted with the anti refugee talk. They are the most vulnerable people out there, and these assholes are all “but skittles”

I am so sad that we aren’t helping. So many people are experiencing unimaginable suffering and we won’t help because... we’re scared? It’s disgusting.

2 years before they get placed, no choice in where they are placed (and with the US only taking 10k, odds are against them getting placed in the US), and vetted like you wouldn’t believe.

Yeah, I really can’t get with the subtle slagging on people who want to be optimistic or try to make positive changes in their life. Even if the result is someone who is annoying sappy, that’s not really something I want to discourage people from trying to do.

I think sometimes we lose sight that the world isn’t black and white. Things sometimes aren’t totally good or totally bad. There’s an entire spectrum of gray in between.

Well put. I hadn’t heard it framed that way.

I live in a predominantly white, Jewish community. And I am terrified every damn day that I’m going to go to temple one day and be confronted with a group of these psychopaths because they seem to be popping up everywhere. I’m afraid to wear my Star around my neck. I’m afraid to exist in the world.

That heil photo is a beautiful example of Trump supporters being NOT the struggling working-class voter deserving of our “empathy”. We were in Ogunquit this weekend surrounded by loud, drunken, gun-toting Republicans who just happened to be filthy rich. On average Trump voters earn just a bit above the average voter.

Progressivism suffers so much from the whole all or nothing mentality. It’s how people managed to be so disillusioned by Obama 08 only getting imperfect advancements that 5mil fewer people came out in 12 and 5mil fewer than that for 2016.

I was going to say — aren’t the same people raising the biggest stink about this the same ones who supported Good Ol’ Mr. “Grab ‘Em By the Pu**y” all the way to the (borked, voter-suppression-corrupted) election results ... ?

Me too. Could easily be some drunk women are horny and looking for sex. Celebratory moods make some women want sex? It’s ambiguous and I’d want to look at more than one tweet to determine a pattern and meaning. Trump’s are part of a long term pattern and are consistently bad to aweful.

I’m pretty easily offended, but I’ve got nothing to say about this one. Let’s all move along.
