When I see stories about music copyright lawsuits, I always think about James Arthur’s “Say you won’t let go,” which uses the exact same chord progression and tempo as Adele’s “Someone like you.” Once you hear it, it’s all you can hear. If that’s not a close enough resemblance for a complaint, then folks like Sheeran

If you ever want to turn someone off of tattoos just show them this picture.

This is intentional infliction of emotional distress. Expect to hear from my lawyer.

Could you provide me with your lawyer’s address and phone number, please.

WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A LION?

This is an excellent, yet brief, explanation of how badly that case fucked up existing copyright law. We had literal decades of precedent saying that “sounds like” was not enough of a basis for action. Now? Oops?

Dude! Trigger warning!

Chord progressions ARE NOT COPYWRITTEN they are the foundation of western music history, going back to classical music.  This shit makes me so irate.

If they win with this flimsy case, I’ll try my luck suing him for emotional distress over seeing this photo:

“Blurred Lines” is an awful song, but that decision was a disaster for the music industry and songwriting in general. If you can win a copyright lawsuit over a song having a “similar feel” to another song, then you are effectively killing art. Influences, inspiration, vibe... these are things that are crucial to a lot

I like Charli’s older stuff, but I tried to listen to Pop 2 and couldn’t get into it. I usually like EDM, and even the poppier EDM can be OK, but I found Pop 2 to be fairly unlistenable. The songs mostly sound the same and it’s all generic high-pitched singing that just grates on my nerves. I feel bad cuz she seems

Taylor Swift is an amazing musician and a better person.

Who let you out of the greys?

Hi Taylor!!!

I recognize few of these names, but presumably they’re known in the UK. Perhaps Housewives was big there and she still has name recognition?

Yeah, the new version is great. I don’t know if it’s better but they did a great job keeping it the show we all love.

Just recently watched that episode, and it’s my fave one mainly because of Michael Sheen and David Mitchell. That was the first time I saw Jameela, though. She was quite charming and gorgeous.

I, somewhat shamefully, would shag Noel. Something about Goth2Boss really spoke to me apparently. And, I would not at all shamefully shag Chris O’Dowd. And probably Richard Ayoade too. Wowsa, The IT Crowd was full of eye candy for being a show about nerds!

That IS Noel Fielding! Oh, good. I haven’t followed much about the new Bake Off and thought I was just hallucinating Vince Noir

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I prefer the new version, but I was really pleasantly surprised by how much I like the new hosts and judge.
