It’s insane how people think. There are times at work where people ask “oh are you talking about the black guy?” and I have to think “oh, yeah, James is black” and feel silly because James is damn near Vantablack. In my mind, James is James.

Beaverton isn’t in the middle of nowhere. It’s one of the biggest suburbs of Portland, home of Nike HQ, and pretty diverse. According to City Data, Beaverton is 62% white non-Hispanic. I hope this guy lost his job over this.
TBH, this looked better straight out of the factory. Anachronistic modifications do it no favours.
This was my 2001 TDI. I finally sold it to my VW mechanic for when I hit 450,000 miles (I bought it new back in 2001). No engine mods or anything more than some cosmetic additions. In all that time, I had NO failures of any kind. It’s the best car I’ve ever had.
I wanted to give it a Nice Price. Getting that interior back together would probably be a nightmare for me, but for someone who’s more familiar with the car maybe not.

I wasn’t aware these were ever sold in the US. I saw a lot of them when I was in Germany in the late 80's and they always stood out to me. Not necessarily in a good way. Looking at it now, it looks a little like what could have been the inspiration for the Pontiac Aztek.

Annnd it’s gone. I get the irritation, but this is one of those sales where it’s not really that important whether it runs or not. And this is the sort of car to not have a check engine light.
