I’m 56, a smartphone early adopter, and I think in-car navigation is mostly pointless although I can see the appeal of being able to change your route on the fly and not having to worry if you don’t have a strong data connection.

These 3500s aren’t all *that* easy to work on. 8 lug wheels and heavy duty underpinnings that take Incredible Hulk level strength to break bolts loose aren’t fun for a shadetree mechanic to deal with. I know because I went this route. I found a 2000 GMC 2500 work truck in good shape that was too cheap to ignore. Tough

You're not wrong. I sourced a used hardtop for my 996, realized I didn't like the storage cart it came with, rigged up a nice pulley and crank system so I could lift it off by myself and store it overhead and... haven't used it once.

One of my customers on my paper route had a new one of these in green. I learned if I gushed once in a while over how great it looked he’d give me a tip.

It’s an ‘84 with a carb. You don’t *need* OBD-II to diagnose it. Still, huge ND.

The 91 SE-R I ended up buying instead had 140 and I’m positive the 240SX did not have less. Anyway, a decade or so ago I revisited these and was shocked and

Years ago I rented an F-150 for work in Oklahoma and unavoidably had to take it through overhanging brush. Scratched up the clearcoat on the hood really bad. I meant to buy some wax and buff it out but never got around to it. A couple weeks later I had to leave quickly on a different assignment so I turned the truck

We had an Escort of this vintage as a fleet car at work. It lasted about 20 years, mainly because no one wanted to drive it. I felt sorry for it because it was a decent, plucky little wagon-that-could. But by the 20-teens, with everything else being trucks, it started feeling really tiny, tinny and unsafe, and not in
