Well yeah, it's easier to shed dramatic elements than to retrofit them to something relatively thin. You can do it the other way (dark into light) because conceptually it's easier, the darkness isn't something we as humans actually gravitate to but you sure can make fun of it because of how weighty it is and stripping…
