If you can’t pay for it, you can’t afford it. Borrowing for anything other than your house is nothing but mathematically challenged people fulfilling their own destiny to remain poor. The discussions I hear from people with poor money management, which this article just normlizes, are talking about what they can

It’s a short article - you should give it a quick read!

I have no pity for any dealer that’s left holding the bag after the last couple years of price gouging.

- Because it still is legal tender.

I really don’t get the people who are mad at MrBeast. I’d gladly show up on his show to get a free car and I believe that everyone appearing in his videos think the same way. When was the last time you heard anyone saying they got ripped off by MrBeast?

Hmmm... Jalopnik trashing something that’s free because it has ads all over it.  Interesting.

Mr. Hodge, I’m guessing you don’t have a lot of experience in nonprofit/charitable fundraising. Allow me, a guy who has decades of experience being on nonprofit boards and running their huge (hundreds of people, 6 and 7 digit donations) fundraising events, explain it to you. [Yes, I’m being serious. You didn’t expect

omg! The *free*car has ads all over it!

his brand having visibility and making money is how he affords to give this sort of “tip” to people. what is the problem, then?

I would say 100%. These are classic GM cockroaches. I expect 100% of them are also “Tag Appled Fur” with crayon and cardboard license plates, have at least 1 donut spare, a duct tape window, and a windshield that somehow has more cracks than the dash.

So what?

Too bad you can’t resell cars.

Counterpoint: Stuff like this gets him the clicks he needs to continue doing stuff like this. Selling chocolate probably doesn't hurt the cause either. And it's still a free car.

I’d give her a van with a bitchin’ airbrushed wizard and dragon on it!

A federal analysis of traffic deaths in 2020 showed among drivers that were involved in fatal crashes, 84 percent had a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher

If you’ve got time and are willing to be patient, another trick is to get the carvana offer first, but don’t tell them you have it so it doesn’t potentially skew their offer downward. Then the possible outcomes are:

The Vroom guy who picked my car up barely acknowledged a car was in his presence. I was wanging on about having all the receipts, manuals, window sticker etc.

Trust me, it’s covered. I understand geometry. These test cars are available to rent and can survey the entire track length in a short amount of time. They generate a 3D report of the entire trip that can be evaluated for cars of any length.

You must be blind to not realize that is exactly what Twitter was doing for years prior to Musk, not to mention what the current administration has and is doing.
