100% on your side with this. I honestly don’t think default drivers understand how obnoxious they sound when they make snarky assumptions about others’ mobility. And because they don’t really understand the practical realities of the alternatives, they just come across sounding like petulant jerks instead of realizing…

That was kind of my thought as well. Getting it to the burbs would help, you’d have to go pretty far to escape Chicagoland’s light pollution. We’ll just give it a go in the city and hope for the best. :)

I mentioned elsewhere that I have good friends, none of whom are interested in staying out late on a work night to drive to the suburbs to see a meteor shower, unfortunately. I obviously need more nerd friends. I have, however, convinced a few to join me on the shores of Lake Michigan to see what we can. :)

“Just outside Chicago” can take a long time to get to, unless you’re talking the middle of the night! And driving hours in the middle of the night to get to Rockford, hoping to see some meteors...Well, it’s a little more than I can convince the girlfriend to do, I’d imagine.
