The Mic Drop joke wasn’t the button itself, it was that this was actually a thing they did that got people fired and they had to pull it, right? Noone actually sent an email with it, went to sleep for hours, woke up and was fired by 11:40 something last night, right? The button never actually existed, correct?
People haven’t gotten anything? On the 25th I got a ‘we are gonna ship soon’ email. 26th was ‘we shipped yours’ email. UPS delivered it Monday.
I’ve seen far too many people approach my company like this. Demanding to be paid before offering any proof that they even found anything. Most go away, a few that actually found anything simply post the cracks online after being told we won’t pay their extortion fees.
The second one is also confirmed fake (as if you needed confirmation)
From a desktop software perspective, our revenues have seen 80% drops the day a new crack is released for our flagship software. Then it’s a week or two of aggressive takedown notices and serverside changes to try to identify and disable cracked copies before we recover anywhere close to our original levels.
