I’d take the Accord, myself. But I think the difference is lost on the typical driver.

I don’t have heavy traffic very often where I am. The canyons of Malibu are just 5 minutes away in one direction, and some great country roads are about 10 minutes away in another.
My bad.
Yeah, probably.
That’s how it was when I lived in Texas. Oddly, in California most of the full-size truck drivers seem pretty courteous on the roads.
If you like cars, want a Demon, and can afford it, I’d say you absolutely should.
I’m not saying you should. I’m saying that it doesn’t matter to most people. If you want to drive something more entertaining than a Camry, I fully support that. I just don’t think everyone has to.
There are an awful lot of asshole drivers out here in Toyotas. I’m not sure if that’s due to the popularity of Toyotas on the west coast combined with the fact that the average driver sucks, or if Toyotas actually attract the kind of oblivious, self-centered dipfuck who just doesn’t care he’s doing at least 10 under…
Bottom of my right foot.
This is true. Their cars look like something a cat coughed up on the rug.
Weekdays on the right roads seem to be the ticket. At least it keeps most of the cyclists away.
I’m more into driving than standing around listening to cars idle.
Those were just examples. I’ve driven hundreds of cars.
See, but I’ve driven cars that were vastly worse than a Camry. So much worse, that by comparison the Camry’s basic competence felt like genuine character. I deeply belive that the whole “Toyota is boring” thing is blown all out of proportion.
I suppose my guitars and amps might qualify. When I bought them, I was playing out. But these days, Custom Shop Gibsons and a pile of Boogie amps is probably overkill for just dinking around in my living room. I keep telling myself I’ll get another band together someday...
I’d dearly like to try a new GT-350.
I’d vote for that.
Yeah, that’s valid. I just don’t get why folks who aren’t enthusiasts care what enthusiasts think.
I don’t get too worked up about the label. Being a “car guy” is something I usually find kinda embarrassing unless I’m in the company of other car folk. It’s certainly not something I’d share with a first date.
But the best rental I ever had was an ‘08 Camry. It was faster and handled much better than all the rental-spec Malibus and Chrysler 200s I’ve rented. Those cars were crap. Not just boring. A ‘99 Malibu made me actively hate everything about driving. The Camry felt like a McLaren in comparison.
