I’ll give you the hp wars part.

The malaise era was the result of new safety and emissions regulations combined with fuel scarcity and shitty economic conditions. Running LTDs and Granadas around an overhyped race track wouldn’t have changed that.

$44 grand for a used pickup truck? Things really are going all to hell.

Testing cars on tracks is all fine and good, but it doesn’t have to be that one particular track in sausageland. Don’t most manufacturers have their own proving grounds anyway?

I had no idea.

Yup. Plus, 100LL has something like 3 times the TEL that automotive gasoline had even at peak levels, despite the “low lead” moniker.

I’m not a petrochemical expert, but if there were a problem with using jet fuel in a diesel automotive engine, I’d expect it to have to do with different additive package.

100LL is gasoline. Jet fuel is basically kerosene, so, maybe kinda sorta usable in some diesels, but definitely not gas engines.

Not usually, but I could not resist snapping this one of Jim Rockford’s Firebird on the 101. License plate says “ROCKFRD.” I later found out it is an actual, screen-used car from the show.

Accord V6 Touring. It’s a nice car with lots of features that can be had brand-new in the mid-$30k range. The resale will be very strong, but the car is also reliable enough over the long run that it won’t vacuum your wallet right out of your pants should you change your mind and decide to keep it.

Fucking weak. If that’s all the Si is offering, I’d rather save my money and just get a base 2.0L/6MT.

There’s a certain practicality in being able to say, “Sorry, I can’t take you along. I have a two-seater.”

I’m a California liberal who’s looking into getting a carry permit. But I did live in Texas for 30 years.

Safe travels, DT!

Heh. My ratings would be:

Sounds like a pretty Hot Topic to me.

Thanks!

My buddy Sparky needs dis.

I’m afraid a bird will shit on me when I have the top down.
