N: Possibly. Although Mrs. FX4 doesn’t drive a lot, we’ve been going back-and-forth on replacing her aging Civic. I’m leaning toward a C-Max Energi; the size is right since she likes compacts, she likes the idea of driving a hybrid, and between cheap gas and healthy tax breaks, the price is very tempting. My only

Stick Volvo wagon that is in decent shape? But Christmas isn’t for another three days!

Well, I’ve got a 2002 Ranger with 155k miles, my parents have an ‘88 Taurus (IIRC around 90k) and a ‘97 Ranger (200k+), and my sister is still driving her ‘05 Focus (no idea on mileage but has to be 125k+ at this point).

A 6er rally car??

Can we change that max year to 1990? I always wanted a late-80s AWD Tempo

I’ve never seen another stick Fusion.

Indeed, a Fusion manual.

Thanks, I lusted after that exact trim (manual FX4), model year, and color in college and was able to find a modestly used one in 2006. Been ten years and it still puts a smile on my face.

I’ll just share my successes with manual vehicles (both new and old) and fuel efficiency. I’ve got two vehicles, both with manuals, an old-tech 2002 4.0L V6 Ranger 4x4 with a 5-speed, and a new-tech 2014 1.6L EcoBoost Fusion with a 6-speed. The Ranger has a combined rating of 17 MPG, I’ve averaged 20 MPG over 19k

Manual 2014 Fusion here.

Don’t forget...

Only MY13 and MY14, and only with the 1.6 turbo. A manual Fusion is a pretty rare sight (I’ve never seen another one), but it definitely makes the car reasonably fun, for a FWD family sedan.

Yep.

I’d get excited about seeing a Sterling precisely because they’re a mishmash of cars sold under a defunct nameplate that look completely unremarkable.
