Trition, Duratec, Magnum, Hemi, Vortec, EarthDreams, Pure Drive, SkyActiv, EcoTech; all meaningless marketing terms used by OEMs for their engines over the decades. EcoBoost isn’t different, just more effective as evidenced by every auto mag/website getting suckered in to using the name, and the lay consumer thinking

Ooooh, and a Premier no less! Happy Friday indeed!

So true. It wasn’t long ago that most car mags were complaining about row after row of tiny buttons. Now the buttons are gone but the complaining continues!

I saw these little 4WD Tercels everywhere as a kid so there’s a bit of a nostalgic soft spot, and this one looks to be in better shape than any I’ve ever seen, but $10k? Nope, nope, nope.

Drove a good number of these manual X5s during my time at a BMW dealer in college. The stick really helped get the most out of the 3.0 and actually did a pretty good job of making the X5 somewhat fun. It was a bit tough to drive smoothly, however, due to the short first gear. Starting in second is advisable when

While there is a general consensus that sharp oil price increases have a corresponding negative effect on national output, studies have not shown the opposite effect to be true, likely due to the effects from declining investment and the reserve requirements you mentioned.

I wouldn’t put it past them.

4th: Here are the four SUVs/CUVs Ford will be adding:

1st: Not really all that surprising. Margins on passenger cars are much thinner than crossovers and trucks, so it only makes sense for Ford to shift production to cheaper Mexico while keeping UAW workers going on the more profitable stuff.

N: They’ll probably end up the same as manual gearboxes: a niche aimed at a very specific small group. People have convinced themselves they “need” a crossover/SUV thing when a wagon will likely fit the bill 90%+ of the time, and the idiotic efficiency standards that favor big vehicles exacerbate the problem.

The whole thing was pretty sweet, then I get to the second half of the video to see the silver Sierra pushing the trailer. Awesome.

Oh F, a Corsica. How on this green earth can a car be that terrible straight off the showroom floor?

So wait, are you saying my plan to live off the substantial windfall from selling my unicorn, definitely future collectible/classic manual 2014 Fusion in a few years is unlikely to happen and is an all-around bad idea?

Camo may be there to hide a DEF tank access panel. Just a guess though.

N: Yes (eventually) and it won’t be Congress that tips the scales in favor of autonomous vehicles, but insurance. Once autonomous vehicles are proven safer with fewer claims, costs will shift to those of us still driving manually, creating a snowball effect that will chase further people out of the driver’s seat.

If it gets built (and as already noted, that is a big if), would it even make it stateside? Ponying up more than $35k for a Golf R is already asking a lot; how many R420s can VW realistically expect to move?

His campaign is a complete shitshow that makes no sense, so yeah, why not?

Not that hard. I remember reading a road test of this car in a 1993 issue of Car & Driver and being completely smitten. My adolescent teenage mind could not comprehend the awesomeness of 4WD...turbocharged with 224 horsepower...Recaros; to an American, words not associated with Escorts. And that wing!

Well you were (and most likely are) far more technology-adept than me; ZOC terminal? Telnet? BBS...wait, I know that one, those are wheels.

I’m with you (Nov. ‘81), not really feeling like I fit in with millenials or gen-X’ers, but sort of a weird in between generation. I feel like if you remember a time before the internet (I didn’t use it until high school) or cell phones (didn’t have one until college), you’re not really a millenial.
