I know asking for a modicum of restraint from SNL is useless, but please, we've already seen Pete on Update three times in five episodes. I like him so far and I don't want to get sick of him. Sometimes less is more, Lorne.

Jones has been part of the official cast for two weeks.

Kenan is exhibit A to Z.

I'm not going to say music used to be better because there have always been great, good and terrible pop music but you bring up a fairly good point re: younger people not being as passionate about music as before. I'm a teacher and I honestly only know one or two kids who say they actually enjoy and spend time

Somebody please put Jim Carrey and Kate McKinnon together in a movie. A funny one, if possible.

Didn't Simpson sing over a backing track? I mean, at least she tried. It's funny to think how Simpson's career (I know I'm being awfully generous calling it a career) took a nosedive for something that has become commonplace in SNL in the past few years.

In my quest to become a crotchety old person as soon as possible I actually blurted out "do people really listen to this voluntarily?" while she was singing. And I say this as a person with fairly questionable taste.

It took me a few seconds to realize Jeff Daniels wasn't actually Tim Robinson in a wig.

All those names mentioned in the article are just a tiny, tiny drop in the ocean. People getting up in arms about a woman being chosen to direct one out of TEN planned films and saying it's somewhat sexist are missing the point spectacularly.

Both were fired. And Brenda Chapman, really?

Thank you! I was going to mention her. She's more than familiar with the superhero universe, give her a live-action chance!

Name more than one director who's been given the chance to direct an over the top explosive action film.

That's exactly what they're doing. But you gotta start somewhere (I know I'm being stupidly optimistic about this)

Catherine Keener for Paula Von Gunther, then!

I actually want her to take a break from making Important Films and do something commercial for a change. I recently rewatched Strange Days and Near Dark and damn if they're not a hoot.

You're being waaaaay too nice about the $23 million part.

The Beygency won't like this.

Fair enough. But saying that Lorne hiring an 'ethnic' guy and two black people while firing 'nearly every white person out of all of his hires' is more than a little ridiculous. The reason why he fired so many white people is because all but one of his 2013-2014 hires were white, not because he's afraid of the NAACP

This comment is worthy of a Fox and Friends debate. Or debate.
