I haven’t followed this story all that closely but wasn’t there an allegation that she’d claimed she was a native american and received some kind of preferential treatment as a result? I thought she’d put that on a job app or something.

Given that the national debt results in annual interest payments of at least $364B - about 7.5% of the total budget - I think claiming the national debt is “nothing” is an indication that you’re not an economist and probably don’t have a GED.
Tomato is the only reason to come to this site. He’s a genius.
Isn’t the point that she told a story that’s not entirely true?
To be fair, the cost to taxpayers of the GND or free tuition will greatly exceed $5B. It’s a little bit apples and oranges, but I think that taxpayers should question EVERY dollar spent by the Feds no matter what program that dollar is allocated towards.
Eh, I don’t know about that. Brownback’s tax “experiment” in Kansas was a legitimate attempt to force “small government” on Kansans. It didn’t work, but they definitely went all in on it.
If it’s any consolation, the longer you argue with that guy the more apparent your criticisms of his style become. He’s essentially proving your point on his own.
Plenty of conservatives love Medicare, which is a socialist medical program.
Maybe treating all welfare recipients as identical is equally ignorant. There is no question that many welfare recipients can work but elect not to do so for a variety of reasons, some legit some not so legit.
Plenty of conservative voters are for socialist programs like Medicare and the military.
Wait . . . are they gay or do they want to fuck this silly bitch? Because those two seem at odds.
If those programs were effective, what tangible benefits can you show that proves their effectiveness?
Fair democracy in America has been greatly eroded by gerrymandering
Welfare for people who probably make bad decisions. Now we are getting into the feelings rather than the logic of the thing.
lol - everything you’re saying is just what McCaskill said. You’re right and so is McCaskill.
Ocasio-Cortez’s leftist politics are routinely painted as pie-in-the-sky policy proposals, but her actual platform consists of several run-of-the-mill ambitions: Increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour, the endorsement of a Federal Job Guarantee, tuition-free trade schools, and access to healthcare and…
This fucking dude is really out here saying that focusing on some fucking dudes that are open to an argument would be more interesting than the person making the argument?
That’s what the movie delivers. The Politico piece just pointed out that RBG’s husband was also light-years ahead of his time and was a great complementary partner for her.
Eh, I don’t think you’re being fair to the Politico piece. It’s a good read and gives RBG her due but does point out how bizarre it is to turn Justices into political figures because that’s what they’re supposed to be above.
If you have a patient with symptoms consistent with what this kid has, every ER is going to prescribe broad-spectrum antibiotics because, you’re hysteria about superbugs aside, that’s the standard of care.
