Yes in theory you can take a train from baltimore to dc in 30 min. But it sucks getting to the station. Sucks bringing your family and stuff needed for the day. Sucks travelimg once you get to dc. It would be great if you could bring some kind of device that could move your family and stuff. 

I like the part where you deride I-66 for utilizing HOT lanes and not utilizing HOV lanes but dont mention it is free if you are a HOV.
