Hemsworth doesn't really do anything for me personally, but he at least has the advantage of being absolutely hilarious.

I'd be fucking delighted if they'd just QUIT GODDAMN REARRANGING MY QUEUE (sorry, my "List"). It's bad enough that it's an orderless chaos, but then they randomly switch around the orderless chaos so it's 10x harder to find anything, and, as an added-difficulty bonus, occasionally change the title card graphics.
What're the odds on this being calculated manufactured drama to serve as a publicity grab for the network? Of which I've never heard. But I don't live in Atlanta. Or have cable. So.
There's also a marked difference in directly financially supporting a living artist (Cosby, Polanski, Woody Allen, Mel Gibson) and eschewing the work of someone WHO IS DEAD based on their social or political views, which might not've even made it into their publicly available work. I have no qualms about enjoyingβ¦

I'm guessing they manually increased the line height to compensate for the fact that the font itself is SO DAMN BOLD AND DARK for a body-copy typeface. Spreading it out a bit more keeps it from looking so dark/dense overall, maybe? Seems like that'd be extra-shitty on mobile devices though, because increased lineβ¦
Same device, same browser, and I rather like it. It's heavier/bolder than I prefer for body copy / large blocks of text, but it's fine and I don't hate it. (Yet?) (Maybe I'm just temporarily low on rage-fuel, having spent it all on β¦ oh never mind.)
+1 for a two-in-one difficulty in reading vs misreading joke.
Also wider and rounder and significantly less fug. (I hate TNR with the fire of a thousand burning typography nerds.)
"Home in," like a homing pigeon, homing beacon, homing device, as in "seeking or moving toward a known destination or goal." NOT "HONE IN." HONE IS WHAT YOU DO TO A KNIFE.
Fiddling while Vulcan burns.
You're more than welcome to call me "-ist" names back. I'll even give you some to get started with : Idealist. Pluralist. Feminist. Liberalist. Atheist. Humanist. Empiricist. Today specifically, Pessimist with an option on Nihilist.
To say nothing of the fact that this kind of thing is COMPLETELY ANTITHETICAL to our (liberals', or whatever) espoused stance of "you can think and believe whatever you like, but you may not act in ways that inflict harm on others or infringe upon their rights." Stating or implying that those who believe differentlyβ¦
The whole email is terrific, except for the "resign because you have no place here" line. If he'd only left out that one needlessly combative and legally problematic sentence, it'd be the perfect exemplar of what I'd like to see from business leaders everywhere. We're already seeing plenty of running lists ofβ¦
I mean I can understand the rationale of "well, this particular aspect of [person, thing, etc] sucks, but I'll give it a pass because these other aspects are of much greater importance and long-term impact." HOW CAN YOU GIVE A PASS TO OVERT RACISM AND MISOGYNY. HOW. I don't give a fuck what you think it's going to doβ¦
Would he be happy with VP? Warren/Perlman 2020.
He embraces his cheezy dadness. It's practically heroic.
What amazes me so much in this particular instance is how they (we?) managed to muddy something that should have been crystal clear : That a person who says racist things is a racist. That a person who says sexist things is a misogynist. That a person who deliberately insults and belittles and dismisses and threatensβ¦
This comment gave me a fake heart attack.
Watching "The Crown" now and thoroughly enjoying it/him, butβ¦is it just me, or is his Churchill VERY, VERY MUCH like a Vogon?
