That looks amazing!

Husband’s making chicken and gorgonzola shells—cooling on the counter as I write!

I made a salad with arugula, roasted carrots and chickpeas, kalamata olives, avocado, and harissa dressing. SO good. I’m making something something primavera tomorrow. I have basil, peas, artichoke, lemon, garlic, feta, and a frilly oddball pasta. Can’t wait!

Nope, we have some good fried chicken at the local Ralphs. I was thinking of the Foster Farms precooked chicken strips that I used to get. They were very convenient until they slowly turned rancid. I don’t know if they changed or if my tastebuds matured. I have to cook my own chicken now.

Better late than never! Their second album Adventure is also criminally underrated. I think Marquee Moon is actually my second favourite record of all time (the first being Wire’s Pink Flag).

Ooo I’m glad to read this review, I was just about to buy Six Wakes based on the plot description. Might give it a pass.

The key to the ta’amiya is using a combination of fresh and dried broad beans/fava. No chickpeas, unlike the falafel from elsewhere in the Middle East. It’s a labour of love that you pretty much need to devote an entire weekend to. When you’re making babaghanoush, you want maximum char on the eggplant, so if you’ve

My new favorite “sounds fancy but actually took ten minutes” dish is pesto and mozzarella stuffed chicken breast with roasted tomatoes. I cut pockets into the meaty part of two chicken breasts and filled them with a spoonful of pesto and some chunks of mozzarella. Then I put two pints of grape/cherry tomatoes in a

I’ve started cooking a bunch of chicken once a week to have for salads and meals on weeknights. I don’t know if you use those frozen cooked chicken strips, but last time I used them they made me physically sick they smelled just wrong. I don’t know if that’s what you meant by prefab, but seriously they are gross.

Ta’amiya (Egyptian falafel), babaghanosh, smoked pumpkin with caramelised onions, pomegranate seeds, fresh oregano and tahini dressing, lentil and barley salad with capers and barberries and pistachio and rose baklava. No pics because it all got demolished in matter of minutes.

Your salad looks great! I tried the Kale with Smoked Almonds and Shallots salad from Milk Street Magazine this week, and it was freaking awesome. Highly recommend if you like salads.

I think I have listened to Television’s Marquee Moon on average of once a week since I was a teenager. See also: Wire’s Pink Flag.

I got mine as a Mother’s Day gift. There is a learning curve. I love how quickly you can cook in it and clean up is fast since the inner pot is stainless instead of ceramic like a slow cooker. And it can go in the dishwasher. So far I’m liking mine.

Musical suggestions: Pearl Bailey, Ty Segall, Wolf Parade, LCD Soundsystem...totally rando, but you never know!

That looks delicious! I did a Boston butt in the instant pot, using cherry ginger ale for my liquid. It’s not pretty but Mr P said it’s really good. I’m not a big meat eater so i didn’t even try it.

I felt like Six Wakes didn’t quite wrap up the plot points as much as I’d have liked. I really loved ... 95% of the book.

I don’t know any of your newer bands, collierLA, so I am eagerly off to check them out.

I loved both the dresses! The first was so elegant. Perfect for the situation-I love that it read “understated, confident, and classy” rather than “princess fantasy.” The second dress, while equally beautiful, would not have been appropriate for the ceremony but was dynamite for the reception.
