Honestly, there’s no way this can be explained away as just being stream-of-consciousness from someone who’s not legitimately antisemitic. I’m Jewish, and in 33 years I’ve never heard someone use the word (let alone call me it) except in movies or to specifically list it as a racial slur. And it’s not like it’s out

Let me rephrase: niche as in, while business is technically booming, the market that this kind of game is going to enter—artisinal boardgames? Designer boardgames? I forget the exact wording—is largely still a field of and for collectors and hobbyists.

Can most of the male writers on this site not write articles that sound like you’re all fucking sneering at your keyboards when you have to talk about something/one/etc that you’re not exactly 100% fans of?

You never had to talk about him in the first place. You’re a pop culture website, nobody was coming here to hear about all the shit Trump did, especially since they could read about that on actual news websites. You could have been a refuge from the crap, instead you fed right into it.

I’m not saying that people can’t learn and grow in terms of taste, but people seem to forget how much people loved Ready Player One when it came out, including The AV Club, which gave the book an “A.” I feel like that evolution is way more interesting as a phenomenon than talking about how good or bad the first book

Good on them for actually looking for and casting an actress with a disability.

Im confused because this reads like a B+ at worst.  I'm gonna watch it of course but the wording of this article was more postive then the rating.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool. I think people are misinterpreting it as a hard sci-fi mystery-box show, and missing all the weird inventive sci-fi mythology.

It’s mythology, not hard sci fi. The creepy ghost child and the mouse that came back both fell in the pit, do you really think the ship just happened to survive? At a certain point, you’re just ignoring what the show is actually doing to complain it’s not a different show.

Absolutely.

I address the source material, which I have read, in the review. I also acknowledge the ways in which Kaufman radically transforms and expands upon it. Having seen the movie (twice!), I can assure you that he brings a strangeness to the material that is in not in the (also strange) novel.

Wait, is Dave Chappelle allowed to be friends with people the AV Club isn't friends with?

Nioh 2! I’ve got 300+ hours in this game and I still haven’t had enough.

I’m paralyzed from the chest down, too! C8 complete spinal cord injury from senseless gang violence... Just remember that this is just another chapter in life. There’s so much adaptive equipment out there that can make even quadriplegics live full, enjoyable, and productive lives! Stay positive, do physical therapy,

Best guess?

Hello fellow young people. I am hip with the language of young people. What with your paralax skipping and invisible walls.

I want to warp to November so I can vote this incompetent asshole out of office.

What a fucking dipshit.

Due to disability I have an ad-hoc setup somewhat similar to this, facilitated mostly by a hospital bed provided by my local health service (thank you, European healtchare). I don’t dress like a ninja before I use it though.

Great article. I’m a paraplegic and use a manual chair and had the exact same impression as you during this opening sequence. It’s insane what he does in this wheelchair. Have you played the first Surge? It opens with your character in a wheelchair as well, and from I remember it’s much more realistic. Anyways, thanks
