Seriously? see it's this kind of thinking that just makes me roll my eyes at people when it comes to political stuff anymore. It's coming through FEMA first and it's an emergency broadcast not publicizing his tweets.  This like the present all you want but the rational and reasonable at the same time.

It’s meant as an extension of that system, and as part of the test in October there will be the cellphone alerts followed by a radio/TV broadcast. Both will say something like “This is a test” (the FEMA site has the exact wording).

I receive local alerts for abducted kids or missing elderly who suffer from dementia. I also receive severe weather and flooding alerts. I consider all of that helpful on a local level. I’m curious about what would be a national level alert. I hope we never find out.

It isn’t. People getting outraged because something in the works for years is now being put into action just because Trump are a prime example of politicizing shit that really shouldn’t be.

We all have others, besides weather. The fact that you’ve not gotten them is EXACTLY why I make sure they’re enabled. They’re clearly not used unless needed.

If it’s old enough, it might not receive the alert at all. If you’ve never gotten an Amber alert, your phone might not be capable. (And landlines certainly won’t.)
