Yeah, Bennett is a terrible #1 overall pick but also everyone collectively thought it was a terrible pick at the time. Hard to compare that to a guy with hype like Zion.

I take back what I said in the other thread about this being a good move because the Cavs will probably be better next year. Who ever they pick at #5 isnt going to be that big a deal. And after I read that they still have to finish in the top 10 next year to not convey a pick to Atlanta, I’m guessing we’re going to

Beilein is going to oversee a team that might come close to doubling its win total. Sexton was *much* better by the end of last year, they have a high pick, and Love is (*crossing fingers*) healthy. The team was shamefully tanking by having JR Smith sit out, resting Tristan Thompson forever, trading any productive

True Cleveland sports fans will never forget those 6 years we had a WNBA team either

Embiid and Tobias Harris are legitimately cool. And aside from not having a jumper nobody dislikes Simmons.

Absolutely dumb baserunning from Shin Soo Choo there to not tag up and score.

A few years ago I did a quick comparison among the big 4 US sports and the Premier League, seeing how many different teams captured the league title in the last 10, 20 and 30 years. What I found was that the NFL AND MLB had a lot of parity, and the Premier League did not.

Let’s watch as the narrative morphs from “the Bucks are a complete team” to “Giannis is dragging a bunch of scrubs” when the Bucks inevitably dont win a title.

Shaky Sherpa was the one that angered me. It's a mountain guide, who is jittery, exactly what you don't want a mountain guide to be. And it's alliterative. That name should be in the semi final against Jizyah.

Yeah, and how dare that punk Mantle show up the pitcher by articulating that he could've hit the ball better instead of letting that pitcher think it was his good pitching! He's basically saying the pitcher was garbage and he's an idiot for not pounding it into the seats. Cobb would have spiked him for it in his day!

It is basically a much better version of "talk about..." questions you hear. You know what you're trying to get the players to open up and riff about, it's just a matter of provoking them to do it. She's either looking for them to reply in exasperation as they did here, or get them to say "you know we felt we needed

The thing about Punk is that it's easy to speculate him as some bitter asshole because he keeps things so private. That was generally the speculation before he did the AoW podcast, but the podcast showed pretty clearly that Punk usually acts in good faith. So it feels like a misstep to speculate in the same ways again

So the Giants choose a guy rated anywhere from 4th (CBS, NFL, Walter) to 8th (NBC) on various QB rankings. A guy they probably could have had in the second round. From a school whose most successful pro QB since the 50s is... Thaddeus Lewis. From a team that still has never hired a non white head coach...

Weeping willow with your tears running down, why do you always weep and frown? Is it because he left you one day? Is it because he could not stay? On your branches he would swing, Do you long for the happiness that day would bring? He found shelter in your shade, he thought his laughter would never fade. Weeping

I am fully aware that I am being incredibly petty and that Curry is still the best shooter of all time.  Also that LeBron has some more notable finals lowlights like finishing with single digit points that one time. But also, this is a post for indulging petty Curry hatred.

As a bitter Cleveland Cavs fan, I still take a small amount of delight that Curry has never won a Finals MVP. Granted that could happen this year and it would be nice for Steph to finally put all of this “he chokes in the clutch” talk to bed. But also it still makes me happy thinking of him clanging it off the rim

Did you not read the article? There was a whole shit ton of tension over Conforto getting thrown at. And Rhame waited until what should have been the last batter of the evening, and on the night had shown no such control problems. And he threw up there *twice*. No pitcher ever admits when it's intentional, but there's

There's always levels to this, but Rhame should absolutely have been thrown out for throwing two pitches up by Hoskins' head. If you want to plunk a guy on the thigh or butt that's dumb but at least not potentially breaking a bone in the face or giving a guy a concussion. Honestly a lot of credit to Hoskins for not

So did they stop doing the Storm Surge thing for the playoffs? I didn't see any coverage if they did.

Correct, and also from my understanding he would have the option of simply declaring free agency. He wouldn’t have to give up money to become a free agent either, and any team that signed him would only be on the hook for league minimum (as you can’t double dip contracts, so released guys become weirdly a commodity as
