As a Browns fan I find it appalling that Kevin Hogan has a job somewhere as a QB, much less that he’s been picked over anyone. Kevin Hogan was so bad they immediately went back to Kizer last year.

At $23.5M per year, he’s making just a quarter million less per year than Prince Fielder’s current contract (which is not finished until 2020).

Look at that second gif. He doesn't have time to take the hand off the bat, which makes sense because it's a fastball. He's pulling the bat back towards his shoulder and twisting his body away from the squared position. You are somehow arguing that, despite all that visual evidence, he's still attempting to bunt?

So why limit it to 40k? It’s at most 12 players, if you were to make the entire team average 200k it’s the cost of a single player on the veteran’s minimum. And it’s not like 18-20 year olds are doing particularly great things in the NBA as currently structured. They could decide that 18-20 year olds generally don’t

I am really sad he’s been cut, because I was going to make a sarcastic comment in next year’s WYTS for the Browns about how Jimmy Haslam is really putting his imprint on the team, and now that he’s been cut, those jokes are only like 45% accurate.

Werth noting that even being garbage, Urena is the *ace* of that team. He was their opening day starter, and leads the pitching staff in WAR. Caleb Smith has better rate stats, but hasn’t been healthy enough to overtake in WAR. As mediocre as Urena is - and he would be the 6th best starter on the Indians - that’s

I would like to remind everyone that Urena was the Marlins’ opening day starter and leads the team’s pitching staff in fWAR. This is their *ace*, and that's damning of their team.

I really do love that his teammates, who have known him less than 2 weeks, put him on their caps today. Baseball has a heart sometimes.

I am really curious as to what caused this infection. I know they said it wasn’t communicable, but what exactly happened for this to happen?

I don't own anything with that logo and I've been very against it for years. I'm very happy they're getting rid of it next year. But point taken

I’m an Indians fan and I’ve liked Frazier since we drafted him, the bat speed was just ridiculous. I’ve liked him a lot better than Zimmer. And to me it’s a shame he hasn’t gotten more opportunity because of Judge/Stanton/Gardner/Hicks all being fantastic. And what chaps me most of all is that the damn Yankees made

That applies more to lower-level labor. Like if it was a concessions stand worker, the appeal would certainly fall on deaf ears. This is an executive with a highly specialized skill set (presumably). The cost of a replacement is likely very high, even promotions from within would require salary bumps and a hiring

Bauer currently leads all pitchers on fangraphs’ WAR leaderboard. Better than Sale, Scherzer, Kluber, DeGrom or Verlander. It's not an unreasonable thing to say he's a candidate.

Keep the current format, just replace the other wild card with the weakest division winner. Seems easy enough. There's 162 games, you shouldnt needmore playoff teams, you've already figured out the relative strength of teams via large sample size.

Winners: The Raptors. If Kawhi works, they get better. If he doesn’t, they tank back to the bottom faster and can sat they tried. Win Win!

As an Indians fan, I can’t help but think the Indians drafted both guys and a team with both of them would have been amazing. But then I remember we still have Michael Brantley, and that’s one of the reasons we are likely going to the playoffs, and it hurts less.

I wouldn't say the Mariners are their only competition for that second wild card. The Rays and Angels are above .500 and have some considerable upside. Sadly, aside from determining who wins the AL east, nothing else in the league looks like a competitive race.

Yes he has. They specifically shied away from the luxury tax in the 2015-2016 off-season when they had a huge hole in the outfield. They could have targeted Upton, Cespedes, Hayward, Gordon or even Zobrist. They went with Daniel Nava and Craig Gentry

If the Cavs want to tank now that they’re without LeBron, Melo (and picks, maybe a young guy) for Love makes sense

I kind of had my mind changed on this by Bomani Jones. When it comes down to it, the most prominent criticism of SAS is that he yells a lot and speaks with unwarranted certainty. Which is annoying, sure. But in the age of Trump, I’ll take mild takes shouted over bad, racist takes.
