This is not true. BMW M50/M52/S50/S52 engines are turbo monsters. They are not quite as robust as a 2JZ but only once you get up above 800 whp. There is actually a shop in CT that built an E36 M3 turbo that made 1000+ hp with a stock bottom end save for lower comp pistons. That car has run the texas mile many times.…
There are only two acceptable answers to this question:
The CT6 was a completely embarassing attempt at what GM needs to do to make Cadillac a real contender. It is a crap product and a massive let down in comparison to other cars that reach the same price let alone their own fabulous concepts.
Seriously. I laugh at the idea that a 5.7L engine making only 405 hp is high strung. 71 Hp/liter...... jeez
I was wondering why I never see any of these on the road and then I sat in one at the New York International Auto Show.
thanks for sharing
Oh god it’s beautiful
Battle cars just look like cars slightly modified to deal with the state of American infrastructure.
Absolutely, that car sucks. I’m sure it’s a pig to drive and the proportions are terrible. This is the epitome of the crappy VW product that led to Audi being relegated to second class status behind BMW/Mercedes.
This will get burried, but ironically the Z3 didn’t have the “Z” axle which is where the “Z” moniker come from. The Z axle was really ingenious and was easily superior to both the de dion and porsche weissach design. It’s why the E36 is a far better track car despite the fact that it’s heavier.
This car is everything I hate about VW/Audi. It’s terrible looking, the weight bias is probably miserable, the proportions are laughable, and I’m sure it’s an unreliable money pit that’s no fun to drive.
It’s not unreliable... can we stop with this nonsense? Maintenance is important in a car that is so highly strung.
I don’t blame her, 30k for brake rotors!?!?!?! you have to be kidding me. They are all over the internet for 20 times less than that amount.
You’re completely nuts.
I totally agree. I don’t think the only reason it doesn’t sell well is because it’s relatively slow in a straight line. I just think it’s ugly and cheap looking. This is the origianl FT 86 concept:
Agreed. The E39 is still the better car all these years later. The SS was great in concept but the execution was terrible. It was just too cheapy.
I can’t believe that the best part is the interior. It is so obviously of lower quality it hurts. Just google a picture of the seat adjustment knobs on the door of this car and tell me they are of equal quality to those on, say, a base level C-class. God even the graphics on the gauges are cheap looking and that’s not…
This is correct. In england cafe racers refered to their BSA motorcycles as beezers. Guys who rode BMWs and ran in these circles began to refer to their bikes as beemers to play off the BSA guys. I’ve always heard that’s where the beemers thing comes from.
Ehh it’s too anonymous and its got that typical GM cheapness all over it.
