Read the Guardian’s nicely reported story. She paid with a credit card, they had already run her credit card, the hotel asked for her ID, they flipped their shit when they noticed that her ID still had her birth name and sex.

If you’d bothered to read the story you would have noted that she gave her ID for a photocopy.

Just because shitty things happen in the world, doesn’t make them the norm or even right. Dozens of people get murdered in the Chicago every week. That doesn’t make those murders any less shitty.

But come on, if the banker donates a pair of 5$ shoes, whos going to buy that bankers star bucks coffee? that one he inevitably hates and insists the server remakes?

But of course it’s not actually about voter fraud, it’s about disenfranchising poor people and people of colour who are both less likely to have the required ID and more likely to vote democrat.

That kinda how we do it here in Canada, you have your options, you fill in the dot fold it up and stick it in a box with a slot, sometimes technology can be not as effective.

When I hear about “voting machines” & “it takes 14 hours to vote” & “getting to the polling stations”, etc., I’m thankful we have Vote By Mail in my state.

I switched my affiliation to Democrat specifically so I could vote for Sanders in the primary. If you plan to vote in the general and have the opportunity to try and get your candidate to the general election, why not take it?

I’m a white lady who lives in a red county in a red state. I was allowed to vote (no provisional ballot even!) even though my voter registration and my address on my driver’s license didn’t match. Yes, I live in a voter ID state but nobody figured I was committing fraud because white lady.
