I hope Mr. Musk is also working on some sort of a Basic Garaunteed Income type of scheme as well, as driverless vehicles will wipe out not merely millions, but tens of millions of jobs.

Do you tell everyone there’s an app that treats drivers like employees while paying them like I.C.s?

My understanding was that Sony developed VHS and then sold the rights to JVC, but it’s been a while and I may be mistaken. But that’s the way I remember hearing it.

Somebody should’ve given him a heads-up on what was gonna happen there.

IIRC, both VHs and Beta were both developed by Sony. Sony licensed VHS to competitors while keeping Beta proprietary because it was better, and then was overwhelmed by VHS flooding the market. Consumers ended up going to VHS because it had more content available.

Nice to know J. Peterman still has cash to shell out for stale cake.

She told me she would always love me.

Oh, please.

And...so? I’m thinking that the only people more irrelevant and out-of-touch than Larry King are any people who could give a flip about his opinion on anything.

Totally missing: The huge hit the economy will take when millions of jobs are eliminated. Robot cars don’t buy anything, nor do they pay rent or taxes.

Not off topic at all. The thought of having someone like Trump with the authority to launch nukes gives me cold chills.

The article says ban “cars”. I assume vans will still be around?

Bikes are great. For healthy, fit people. On relatively flat terrain. On safe roads. In nice weather.

The proper subject should not be Donald Trump, but rather the fact that a majority of Republicans are supporting bogotry and Fascism. If they didn’t have Trump to worship, they’d simply invent him. That’s the real issue here: A substantial, very vocal minority of voters have openly embraced Fascism.

Yeah, really! Too bad it can’t be amended!

If a bunch of smokers who are perfectly willing to give themselves cancer want to congregate and give each other cancer as well, who am I to tell them not to? It’s not like other people are going to be forced to participate.

What I want to see from the robot car crowd is support for basic income to replace all the jobs that robots will take. And that’s not just robot cars. The .001% will replace every worker they can with machines, and then hoard all the income from those machines if we let them.

Pizza Hut? Seriously? That’s like partnering with Taco Bell to study Mexican food. Is this a satire article?

That’s exactly what I was referring to!
