Just because the receiver decided to run out of bounds to try to get past the corner doesn’t mean he was “forced” to do that. He didn’t appear to be aware of where he was on the field and just ran straight out of bounds, where, incidentally, the defender went too.

Worse than the play-by-play was the color man insisting that the refs needed to review who touched the ball first after the lateral, like it was some sort of onside kick.
