Shouldn’t Ghost Qui Gon have a big hole in his stomach like Goldie Hawn in Death Becomes Her?

I guess they forgot to write the rest of the article? This feels like a blurb.
Yeeessss! Thank you for articulating what I was feeling after watching the first three episodes. I’m going to watch the rest this coming weekend, but I was surprised by how little emotional or psychological content was present in those those first three episodes. I didn’t really feel anything while watching them.
There…
I’ve been trying to put my finger on what’s been off about this show, and it didn’t really come together until the third act of this episode.
This is so nice to make fun of someone with a disability
That’s not how Cooper comes off in the podcast. It’s not that he felt he deserved some special respect and was surprised he wasn’t getting it. It’s that he’d be supportive and congratulatory of anyone else’s work, just out of basic cordiality in the least, and was shocked at how dickish and petty some big stars were.
I gotta’ say, though, if Helios really is as committed to the flat org-structure as they say they are, Ed’s gonna’ hate it. Dude’s got hierarchy implanted deep in his bones, and even when he goes outside of it, he makes sure that everyone else underneath him sticks to it as rigidly possible. (For what it’s worth, the…
So here’s my theory on the identities. It’s a little unclear if the unnamed actress has won any of the three she’s been nommed for. But if we assume she hasn’t won, and if we eliminate those who are deceased, we are left with the following possibles
Joan Allen
Diane Ladd
Angela Landsbury
Piper Laurie
Laura Linney
Michelle…
Seeing Danny sitting in his car stalking her really sucked the energy out of everything else. They need to move past that and forget about it fast.
Rey did it in that Star Wars movie I keep trying to forget I watched (twice).
And how is it that a lightsabre through the chest is, to quote the immortal Monty Python, “only a flesh wound?”
I thought there was some clearly telegraphed chemistry even when Gendry thought she was a boy. If anything I wondered if he might be queer.
Did she not watch the episode where Arya was ogling Gendry when he was shirtless at the forge in Harrenhal?
Beginning life as the back-page supplement to a satirical newspaper and later setting up a home base in Chicago—a city that prides itself on rejecting the mainstream appeal of the coasts—The A.V. Club built its reputation on being a website that preferred to be a little outside. Rather than catering exclusively…
It’s a fun thing to look back on, now that both LoT and the AV Club are over.
Yeah, maybe it’s because I JUST happened to listen to a podcast the other day about John Landis getting a stuntman and two kids killed on set while filming his segment of the Twilight Zone movie, but reading another account of a kid getting traumatized while filming a movie is just... ugh. Hopefully things are better…
We also need to take into account that this movie is nearly 35 years old. I suspect quite a lot has changed in film production since that time.
Great comment. Film sets push everyone to their limits, there’s a lot of money and scheduling riding on every minute. If a child gets scared, it’s all to easy to assume the child is spooked rather than being genuinely traumatized, or worse, that the production is unsafe. Good people buckle under this pressure and make…
Thanks for posting that. That Sims story is hilarious.
I hope this doesn’t come off as excusing behavior, but it seems like part of the problem was that Gilliam was given a pass. Like if you gave any given person permission to do whatever they wanted to, they’d probably do terrible things.
