I don’t know what film productions have on set these days, but I hope they have counsellors to help kids process some of the stuff they are seeing. I hate the belief that kids are resilient, when in reality it just shows up for them as unresolved trauma in adulthood.

There is a vaccine. It will knock you on your butt for a day, but shingles sucks, as you know. I got it as soon as I was eligible.

You can still get chickenpox even if you're vaccinated.

I forgot about that, so it makes more sense. Although you could argue that Reagan’s huge popularity would transfer to the GOP nominee but I’m really just backpedaling to defend my position at this point.

The thing that took me out of it the most was when they showed Gary Hart winning the 1984 election. In the real world, Reagan was hugely popular in 1984 winning nearly 60% of the popular vote over Mondale and every state except Minnesota and DC. I can believe Hart won the nomination (it was pre-Donna Rice), but it

Digging the weird Murray Bauman/Karate Man curve they have been throwing in. My favorite conspiracy slinging smartass is now an action hero.

A little too predictable but as riffs on ‘The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas’ go it was solid.

Was anyone else not more suspicious of Alora? She lies about the origin of the colony, tries to get Pike not to investigate the crash, jumps in front of Pike when hes point a phaser at the traitor then conveniently after falling to the ground lurches herself forward in a roll so as to stab to death the stunned traitor.

I dunno ... we were really excited about this mini-series. But with only two episodes left - what’s the point? There’s some nice set pieces, but no drama. Obi-Wan survives, of course. As does Leia, of course.

At this point, even if the final two episodes are miraculously perfect (by which I mean, contain no stupid writing), I think I’ve pretty much had it with live-action Star Wars. Even at its best, these shows have all been really disappointing (and in some cases outright atrocious). Every episode of OWK has had some

“Plus, “Part IV” shows Moses Ingram slowly emerging as the MVP of the series”

This show is just incredibly lazy. Someone just reading some of this and saying, “No. Do better. Come up with something creative.” could have done so much:

“We want Leia to be chased. “Ok, but wouldn’t she be caught immediately?” “Yeah, but let’s just do it and have her not be.” “Sure.”

“How should Tala get by

Nailed it. Her delivery is awful.

Nice trolling. She’s been mostly fine, but her character is terrible and her delivery seems off at times. Hardly MVP material.

we witness him slowly healing from his burn wounds—in a water tank, it must be noted”

I haven’t really enjoyed her line delivery but I am unsure if she is being that directed that way or it was her choice.

This thread is small-sample-sized proof of my theory that people will complain, no matter what the release schedule is.

The thing is that Liotta is so iconic in GOODFELLAS that if you saw him in another Scorsese movie you’d probably just think of his role as Henry Hill. I know Scorsese reuses a lot of other actors, but something about that role stands out.

She’s written consistently haunting and beautiful music for nearly fifty years. Stunning voice, talented musician, composer, and dancer.

This is not an exaggeration. TMP had a budget of about $45M and did not do as well as expected. It only made about $82M domestically in its first run. It was 1979 and they wanted Star Wars money. Wrath of Khan only had a budget of about $12M because Paramount wouldn’t give them more after the first one underperformed.
