I truly thought we were going to get a shuttle disaster there, too. I’m a little tired of the Gordo thing, and find it hard to believe someone with his issues and in the shape he is in would be allowed into space.

I agree with a lot of your criticisms of the episode.
Oof. Just watched Continuum on Pluto TV earlier on Saturday. Damn shame.
Shut up, Grimey.
Lisa would definitely go to an Ivy and wouldn’t even need a scholarship, since the Simpsons’ household income is low enough that she’d get a full ride anyway.
I would probably have Lisa down for a full ride scholarship to the college of her choice.
Well, after 32 years, their mortgage has probably been paid off, he’s had the same car since the 80s, his kids go to public school, he’s never going to have to pay for college tuition, and his only family vacations come in the form of road trips and contest prizes. The real lede here is that Homer is the kind of…
The real horror story here is that Bryant Lake Bowl is still hand-scored bowling only. Imagine being at a divey bowling alley and trying to do math on paper between beers and tiny whizzing helicopters.
Shout-out also to his performance in the Black-Mirror episode USS Callister, where he expertly portrays a character that is at the same time subdued and quietly terrifying.
It’s an “of two minds” issue.
This was always a guilty pleasure of mine. Maybe less guilty now. My favorite bit of trivia to learn was how the writers came up with station. They were writing on a computer, which was new back then, and after an editing glitch, the only word left after cutting a scene was the word of dialogue STATION. They laughed,…
The first one is a classic and something I can watch whenever it’s on. The second film, while decent, doesn’t come close... that is until Death enters the picture. I haven’t seen the third movie yet, I guess I’ll have to check it out soon.
I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s better than the first one, but it is certainly very funny movie.
So how is it ‘’mysogynistic’’ to point out that many abusive women really do use this sort of shaming language towards men that can be summed up as ‘’You’re not a real man!’’ and for which thus the term ‘’emasculating’’ is not only factually accurate, but the only one that adequately encapsulates the dynamic of the…
You know the counseling industry is just like any other. It’s got more than it’s share of mediocre to truly bad professionals, and all of them are actively failing their clients. Some of them manage to cause further harm and trauma because they’re so bad at what they do.
Man... if this story was useful to you, I’m genuinely glad. But I thought the ending totally flubbed what was a great little show by not dealing with its implications.
In my experience, assholes calibrate the level of asshole behavior they can unleash on their targets.
This shit is all kinds of crazy. First off, can we all just admit that the idea that “The Royal Family” is in anyway royal, regal, noble or otherwise distinct and special is just about as real as Santa in the Parade. Sure, we tell our kids that the dude in the red suit has magical powers and will bring them special…
The scene where Jenko figured out Schmidt slept with the Captain’s daughter is some of Channing Tatum’s best acting.
Yeah, they’re very funny generally, and a lot of the humor is more about high school and college, as well as male friendship, than about cops.
